    The Hunting Cabin F9018 from Lumibricks is exactly the set to build if you’re in the mood for cosy winter vibes, strong clamping force and a few wonderfully charming hunting details. As soon as you unpack it, it’s clear that the Hunting Cabin F9018 means business – 2,036 pieces, a hunter, a dog, a bear, lots of frost magic and (once again) fantastic lighting. And yes: the Hunting Cabin F9018 is really fun from start to finish. 😄❄️

    A wintery building that immediately captivates 🧱✨

    The parts are solid, the clamping force is just right, and the snow elements are simply delightful. The cleverly placed frost details make the model look as if it had been plucked straight from a snowy fairy-tale world. And as soon as the fireplace is lit, it becomes really cosy – Lumibricks simply knows how to do light. ❤️💡

    Attention to detail on two floors 🛏️🔥🐻

    Inside, the hunting cabin impresses with a beautifully furnished living room complete with a fireplace that crackles thanks to LED technology (at least in your imagination 😉). Upstairs, there is a sleeping area with a stove and bearskin rug – very stylish, very charming. And outside? A hungry bear, a loyal dog and a hunter who hopefully knows what he is doing. 🐾

    Prints, stickers and no stress 🏷️😅

    There are a few prints and a set of stickers too – but thanks to the tweezers provided, they are so easy to apply that even sticker haters like me are satisfied. In the end, everything is where it should be.

    Fantastic magic of light – once again 💡😍

    The integrated lighting system is magnificent, as is typical for Lumibricks. The cabin is beautiful even without light. With light, the Hunting Cabin F9018 is a small work of art.

  • 🛡️Training Ground by Lumibricks – Building fun with a WOW effect ⚔️✨

    If you want to know what Lumibricks is all about, you should definitely check out the Lumibricks Training Ground. I deliberately started with this ‘smaller’ set (964 pieces) – and was simply thrilled. 😊

    🏗️ The building: compact, lovingly designed and wonderfully relaxed

    The construction is really enjoyable right from the very first brick. The quality of the parts is exceptionally good, everything fits securely, looks high-quality and conveys a genuine ‘premium feel’. The clamping force is perfectly balanced – not too light, not too tight.

    I particularly liked the special bricks with integrated cable routing that Lumibricks includes. These allow the light bricks and fine LED strands to be neatly hidden away without any unsightly cables visible later on. It feels really well thought out. 💡

    ✨ The result: a medieval training ground that even glows in the dark.

    The finished model is a real gem. The small knight training camp looks lively, atmospheric and is full of detail. The fantastic integrated lighting is the absolute highlight here – harmonious, powerful and perfectly placed.

    The five minifigures (knights!) and horse also add a lot of flair. And best of all: no stickers! Everything comes with clean, razor-sharp prints. That’s exactly how it should be done. 👌

    ⚔️ Small size, big impression

    For a set with just under 1,000 pieces, the Training Ground offers more atmosphere and quality than many significantly larger sets from other manufacturers. As an introduction to the world of Lumibricks, it was absolutely the right decision for me. This set shows that Lumibricks not only has good designs, but also implements them to a really high standard. ❤️

  • Reobrix 66036 – “Black Pearl”

    Update 16 October 2025: Lighting of the stern lanterns

    The Reobrix ‘Black Pearl’ comes with lighting as standard, but I was bothered by the fact that the stern lanterns didn’t light up. 🤷🏻‍♂️ After a few experiments, I successfully implemented lighting for the three stern lanterns on the Black Pearl – and it only cost me €1.32 in total!
    I used:

    • A simple LED string of lights (20 lights) from Action (€0.69)
    • some heat-shrink tubing (€0.19) from Bauhaus
    • a few centimetres of insulating tape from Bauhaus (€0.04)
    • and two AA batteries (€0.40)

    The installation was a bit fiddly, but I was absolutely thrilled with the result:
    The warm, flicker-free light glows beautifully through the lantern grilles and creates an authentic, slightly mystical atmosphere at the rear.
    A perfect example of how impressive results can be achieved even on a minimal budget. 💡⚓️

    A highlight for pirate fans

    With the Reobrix Black Pearl, the Chinese manufacturer has created a real highlight for pirate fans.
    The huge sailing ship consists of over 4,300 pieces and impresses with countless details and an atmospheric look that immediately brings well-known films to mind.
    The construction is challenging, but remains easy to follow thanks to well-organised bags and clear instructions.
    In this review, I’ll show you how the Reobrix Black Pearl performs during construction, what sets it apart from other pirate ships – and whether it’s really worth the money.

    Stable, detailed and lovingly designed

    The ‘66036 – Black Pearl’ set from Reobrix impresses with 4,304 pieces, sturdy construction and lots of lovely details. The instructions are clear, the bricks have good clamping force and are easy to assemble. The sails, cannons and superstructures in particular create an authentic pirate ship feel.

    More parts, half price

    Compared to its counterpart released on 12 September 2025 (currently available from November 2025 for the average consumer… 🙄) from the major Danish manufacturer, the Reobrix model comes with around 1,600 more pieces – and at around half the price of approximately €180 (depending on the retailer). For this price, Reobrix even includes lighting, which further increases the added value.

    Conclusion:

    A varied, sturdy and detailed build offering excellent value for money – ideal for fans of pirate ships and collectors, and the MBrickz Set of the Month for September 2025.

    Unfortunately, one single, relatively insignificant part is missing, but it is missing nonetheless – so I am rating this set 4.8 out of 5 stars.
